Pat Tolbert

I was born and raised in the state of Alabama—the “Yellowhammer State” and land of the Auburn University Tigers and the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. I studied economics and business at both the University of Alabama and Auburn University, and received my master of business administration from Auburn University in Auburn, Al. I am currently working toward a master of arts in theological studies at Westminster Theological Seminary in Glenside, PA. Prior to coming to Proclamation, I had a business career that spanned 45 years, primarily in global businesses that took Carole and me throughout the United States and several foreign countries.

In 2016, we moved to this area and started attending Proclamation and we are very blessed to be members of this church. I love God’s Word and God’s people and am excited about Proclamation’s ministry focus initiatives designed to grow us to maturity in our Lord Jesus Christ.

I have been married to Carole, my bride for 50 years, and the Lord has blessed us with three sons, a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. While I do not have much spare time these days, I do like to fly fish and play golf, as well as read and study God’s Word. We live in Bryn Mawr with our dog Atticus -- some say one of the neighborhood’s best dogs.

One of my favorite Bible passages and the first passage I memorized is 1 John 4:19, where the apostle John says, “We love because he first loved us.” Christian love is a gift from God, demonstrated supremely in the cross; our love for God and God’s people is in response to His love for us.
