Ken Wendland
I was born and raised in South Florida where I enjoyed playing sports and learning to dodge hurricanes. My great love through high school was baseball. I attended Florida State University in Tallahassee and soon after college came to see the emptiness in my life and by God’s grace came to saving faith in Jesus Christ.
I attended Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia where I had the privilege of studying God’s Word. It was during seminary that I began working at a Korean church where I met my wife, Lisa. We have been blessed with two wonderful children, now adults, who work in the health profession. I enjoy exercise, reading, watching the Chicago Cubs and Florida State Seminoles, spending time with my family, and my wife’s good cooking. I am grateful for the grace of the gospel found in Jesus Christ and long for others to know the joy and power of this Gospel as well.
God’s Word has become increasingly precious to me and among the many passages that I have found instrumental in my own Christian growth, Colossians 3:12 has been a great blessing to me because it speaks to me in ways that bring both encouragement and challenge: “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, cloth yourselves with compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness and patience.”
